Yes I'm quite certain it will take off at some point, either with Google Stadia or in some other form, but while it's absolutely on point to say that it is in companies' interest, it's a fallacy to say it's in us consumers' best interest when we'll be made to shell out money for owning absolutely nothing (except a controller, lol). It would be nice if people like you would stop embracing all the money-making schemes all those companies constantly come up with to, w...
That's insane! I had no idea, lol
Google Chrome Apps is on there, yet I can still add apps to my Google Chrome browser somehow, though.
Dammit, they did that? PSP owners can't browse the PS Store or connect online anymore? Even with the built-in internet browser the PSP¨had? What happens to people who had purchased their PSP games from the PS Store then?
I dread to think they might one day do the same with the PS3, cutting us altogether from accessing the digital games we purchased with our dear dough. If they're ever so stupid as to do that it will be a commercial suicide, and I hope they wouldn't b...
So do I. I honestly didn't think it would be shut down like that, so easily. Why it was never ported to the PS4 is again a mystery Sony alone can shed light on.
You say that you and your wife live rather humbly and add that you have for 30,000$ worth of bills in a year...? lol
WTF?! There's a place on this planet where money grows on trees or what?! What kind of idiot would do such a thing?
If you build "a crazy gaming rig" as you put it, you don't need to buy a Switch, as you'll be able to emulate its games on it, and at much higher framerates and (probably) resolutions than on their original hardware.
When it comes to PS Now on PC however, since they lowered the price and added GTA V they thought it was a good idea to brag about it by adding a tile for it on the PS4 UI (a 2nd one then), so I took a look. Well let me tell you that the select...
"WWE 2K20 Looks Like an Absolute Utter Disaster on PS4"
Game is mentioned to release on Xbox One and PC also, what about those versions? I don't think the Xbox One version is going to be any better, so why single out the PS4 version?
Why does it have to be on Steam? Why not the Epic Games Store? I for one appreciate that Epic offer free games on a weekly basis, that would tend to drive me more towards their store than Steam if I played primarily on PC...
Sneaky Microsoft, they want to lure gamers in to buy their system by painting the PS4 Pro as a weak system by making sure the PS version of the game is not enhanced in any way while only the Xbox One X version gets any sort of 4K enhancement, and then the sequel won't even be available for PS consoles to make sure to funnel gamers down the purchase of an Xbox. It's a low blow though. Pretty desperate move. I'm not sure Sony would've done the same this time.
Hold on a sec... by "quitters" we're talking about people who, when losing an online game against other players, quit the game in rage, or "rage-quit", is that right?
...since when did that become reason enough to ban a player for 2 years?!
How about Red Dead Redemption 2 and its (close to) 110 GB. Or Assassin's Creed Origins + dlc clocking in at 77 GB. And Assassin's Creed Odyssey is even bigger, at I think it is 87 GB, and I still haven't bought the dlc yet. But RDR2 is a brute. It really is. And I forgot GTA V also, it's like AC Origins.
4 more than on Xbox One, I forgot to mention TLOU2, lol
How could I forget to mention TLOU2...
There are only 3 I truly care about: DREAMS, Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Nope. Not over here in Europe at least, because Sony removed the PS2 HW from the Pal PS3s so it was entirely software-based BC. As a result, BC wasn't as good on the european SKU as it was on the US & Japan SKUs. FF VIII on the PS1 never worked at all (but this is a PSOne game and as such it is perhaps beside the point). My copy of Scarface on the PS2 ran so horribly that it was totally unplayable for ex.
I don't know where you live but over here Sony have stopped repairing those original 60GB PS3 SKUs with PS2 BC a while ago, so you should consider yourself lucky they replaced your RSX at all. But yeah, that model wasn't reliable at all, esp. due to that lead-free soldering. I still have mine in pieces in its box somewhere. 650€-worth of dead hardware. Like, completely dead. Thanks Sony...
Well, provided the vast majority of PS4 games play just fine at first. Then they can work on the rest during the whole gen I suppose. But what's been promised is due now, so get to work Sony!
And I knew they wouldn't work on the PS4 Pro Media Player either. Still can't read HEVC/mkv vids. For a system that launched without an UHD BR Player it's not normal that the only way to play 4K vids from an external hard disk drive is if they're encoded in h.264 and in a .mp4 container.
Oh well, I waited years last gen for Sony to make the PS3 capable of reading .mkv vids, litterally each time a PS3 firmware update was announced I thought it was gonna be it...
What are you talking about, the whole point of the PS4 being released at the end of 2013 was so we would now share our pics and vids, and broadcast our games on Twitch or Youtube (which again is sharing, in a way).
I use the pic sharing functionality all the time and send it on the PSN, by keeping the "Share" button on the PS4 controller pressed, and although I've never done it I assume you can do exactly the same with vids, or where would all those vids on the "L...
It will work with a certain mature population, that wants periodically to play a certain game, if only to know what all the fuss is about, or to socialize, a population that doesn't want to actually buy a console or a gamer PC for it, because they don't actually care about video games all that much. I have a friend who's like that.
Then much later down the road, maybe it will become a trend, but I personally hope not. I saw Google demonstrate the proof of concep...
